At Gilead, we believe all people are created in the image of God. We believe that human diversity of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression — not to mention age, ability, relationship status, size — is necessary to reflect the fullness of God. Or to begin to reflect the fullness of God.
At Gilead, people of any and all sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome to (and do) participate fully and serve as congregational leaders and on staff. Many of us here have heard other messages from other churches or society: we've been told that we’re too queer, too out, too smart, too loud, too weird, have too many questions, or too big an agenda for church. You, too? You're our people.
At Gilead, we want to be church for and with people who’ve been turned out, turned off, or just left cold by church. We believe God welcomes all — and so we do too. Disagree? Just hit up those stories of Jesus hanging out with the "wrong" people. We'll wait.
Whoever you are, whatever your story is, you are welcome here.
